Abstract

This article presents a new design of active power factor correction (APFC) circuit that can be used in single phase rectifiers. The proposed circuit provides almost a unity input power factor (PF) which contributes significantly in reduction of the total current harmonic distortion (THDI) as it eliminates the third harmonic component effectively from the input current.
